Student Assistance Counselor

Hi everyone, I am Mrs. Hoff, the Student Assistance Counselor (SAC) at LCJSMS. As the SAC, my goal is to help all middle school students to be successful no matter what obstacles they may face.

Instead of having a caseload of students like the other middle school school counselors, I can work with all students and act as a resource for the entire school. As a SAC, I support students to manage changes and challenges they may find in middle school and can work with any student or group in a confidential setting.

I work to create and implement a Student Assistance Program (SAP) at LCJSMS to provide prevention, intervention, community, and school-wide programming. The goal of the SAP is to foster resiliency, build protective factors, and reduce risk factors in all students.

SAP may be implemented in a individual, group, or school-wide setting to encourage student and school potential. Through this approach, each student can enhance his or her own skill-set and utilize the tools and strategies provided by SAP to be successful. In accomplishing the mission of SAP, I collaborate with students, parents, administrators, counselors, educators, and community members to promote student achievement and success for everyone.
